On Thursday, October, 5th, 2023, the Hon. Volta Regional Minister , Dr . Archibald Yao Letsa, the Hon DCE for North Tongu, Divine Osborne Fenu, The Hon Central Tongu DCE along with the media and teams of the various representatives paid a working visit to Adidome and Battor both of Central and North Tongu respectively.
The purpose of the visit was to assess the ongoing developmental activities being carried out in the two districts by some foreign investors from China and India.
The Chinese investors are into Fish farming with a company name ' *BLUESEA ISLAND COMPANY LIMITED* and that of the Indian is ' *HARI AGRI and FOOD GHANA LIMITED* ' who are into sugar production and have acquired a vast land for the sugarcane production.
The Hon. Regional Minister commended the two DCEs, the Chiefs and people of the area for creating an enabling environment for the investors, who in turn have given job opportunities to the locals, especially the unemployed youths to make money out of their labour and also learn new skills to better their living standards.
Furthermore, he was glad to also note that, about 80% of the workers at both the *Bluesea Island Company Limited* and the *Hari Agri and Food Ghana limited* were locals, which in its sense is good for the development of the area.
The CEO of the BLUESEA ISLAND COMPANY LIMITED; Mr. Lin on his part, stated that, they started operations exactly three (3) months ago but he was very impressed with the progress of work and the number of fish ponds dug and cages fabricated so far.
Finally, he expressed his appreciation to the President of the Republic of Ghana; for opening the borders of Ghana to foreign investors, the District Chief Executives and the Chiefs and people of both Central and North Tongu districts for the welcoming environment provided which has seen an increase in food supply and creation of jobs leading to the development of our local economy.
